What to Expect at Your Nashville Boudoir Session

If you've never done a boudoir session before, "I don't know what to expect" is probably the most common thing I hear. And honestly? That's completely normal. Most women have never been photographed this way — and the unknown can feel intimidating.

So I want to pull back the curtain and walk you through exactly what a SheInLace session looks like — from the first message you send to the moment you see your images. No mystery, no nerves. Just you, feeling more like yourself than you have in a long time.

Before Your Session

Once you book, I send over a welcome guide that covers everything: what to bring, how to prep your skin and hair, and how to think about wardrobe. We'll also have a quick call or message thread where I get to know you — your style, what makes you feel most like yourself, and what you're hoping to walk away with.

Most of my clients come in with 2–4 outfit changes. Some bring lingerie, some bring oversized sweaters and nothing underneath, some bring a partner's shirt. There's no formula. We figure it out together based on you.

The Day Of

Sessions take place in a private, carefully curated space in Nashville. When you arrive, we start slow. There's no rushing, no pressure to perform. We usually spend the first few minutes just talking — about your morning, how you're feeling, what you're excited about. I want you comfortable before the camera ever comes out.

I guide every pose. You don't need to know how to "model." My job is to find the angles and light that make you look and feel incredible — and I'm good at my job. Most women tell me they forgot the camera was even there by the second outfit.

Sessions typically run 2–3 hours depending on your package. We'll move through outfits naturally, take breaks when you need them, and I'll show you a few shots throughout so you can see yourself the way I'm seeing you — which is always a moment.

After Your Session

I'll send you a small preview gallery within a week. Your full gallery — fully edited, every image retouched — is delivered within 3–4 weeks. Every photo is edited with care. Not "fixed," but refined. Skin softened where you want it, light shaped to flatter, your best self made permanent.

A lot of my clients order prints or albums. Some keep the images entirely private. Some share a few on Instagram. What you do with them is entirely yours. I just give you something worth keeping.
